GMR Group has developed an Aerospace & Industrial cluster at Hyderabad Aerocity to meet the growing needs of manufacturing hubs in the country. Spread across an area of over 277 acres, the Park offers fully serviceable industrial lands for lease on a build-to-suit basis.
The Park is well connected by air, road, and rail, as well as to ports. This strategic location offers businesses easy access to suppliers, enabling efficient supply chain management. These linkages also provide the benefit of faster turn-around time and maximisation of productivity.
The presence of an air cargo complex enables quick dispatch and receipt of express cargo and bulk cargo with ease. Businesses at the Aerospace & Industrial Park can thus benefit from the quick turnaround of materials which will help them meet service levels agreed upon with their customers.
Novotel Hyderabad Airport is located just five minutes from the Park and is a contemporary hotel featuring approximately 300 spacious rooms. The hotel is attuned to the needs of business travellers with meeting and conference rooms, banquet halls, an all-day dining multi-cuisine restaurant, Wi-Fi facilities, drop/pick from the airport along with an 80,000 sq. ft. multi-use Convention Centre located beside it.
Affordable accommodations are located within a 30-minute drive from the GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park. There are numerous integrated communities with apartments and villas that are self-sufficient with clubhouse facilities, play areas for children, daycare, and supermarket facilities around the airport premises. Low-cost housing is also available in Shamshabad town and on Srisailam Highway, which is a 10-minute drive from the Park.
Fire: In case of an emergency, all units within the Aerospace & Industrial Park can call in the services of the highly trained Airport Rescue and Fire-fighting (ARFF) team as preliminary support till the time the fire-fighting team from the closest fire station arrives.
Emergency Treatment Centre: Apollo Hospitals run a 17-bed emergency treatment centre at the Airport. A standby ambulance fitted with advanced life-saving equipment is also available at the Park for emergencies.
By virtue of the Park being housed within the International Airport, it benefits from enhanced security. The Airport premise is surrounded by a secure boundary with limited access. These accesses are manned by the RAXA security team (security cell of GMR). The Airport premise is also secured by layers of security by CISF, BCAS, and Telangana state police making the area very secure, unaffected by disturbances and unrest.
The SEZ zone includes a land area of approx. 20 acres earmarked as a Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) to complement supply chain distribution, warehousing, storage, value addition, and packaging. This is the only airport-based FTWZ in India, which brings down transportation costs and reduces the turnaround time for the movement of man and material. Units within the FTWZ are allowed to export, import, and re-export products without the burden of taxes, duties, and levies as per the regulations that a business would otherwise pay in any other Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) land. The FTWZ allows businesses to locate stock in close proximity to their Indian customers, reducing buffer stocks and improving turnaround time. This increases forward and reverse service supply-chain efficiencies. FTWZ units are also permitted to trade goods, assemble completely knocked-down (CKD) and semi-knocked-down (SKD) kits, package or repackage re-sell, re-invoice, or re-export imported goods.
Hyderabad is home to numerous aerospace and defence companies including OEM and Tire-I, Tire-II and MSMEs. Besides the state-run DPSU Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd Avionics Division (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), various reputed aeronautical and aerospace research and development organizations, are also located in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad maintains one of the highest concentrations of highly mature IT and engineering service firms. Local software majors like Cyient, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services have been serving clients in the global aviation and aerospace industry for many years.

The presence of DPSUs has led to the development of deep aerospace expertise with the SMEs that engage in niche subcontracting work while also exporting to foreign aerospace companies.
The presence of scientific and academic institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Information Technology, BITS Pilani, and Indian School of Business to name a few, enable the development of well-qualified experts who can be absorbed into the industry. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have over 280 engineering colleges combined which produce approximately 90,000 engineers every year. There are also multiple aeronautical engineering/aircraft maintenance engineering colleges in and around Hyderabad.
GMR Aviation Academy housed within Airport premises and an ICAO-certified training institute, focuses on providing aviation-related training programs that can further assist businesses in meeting their skill needs.
